Lake Guntersville Rowing Club was established in 2010 and already the club is on the fast track. The recent learn to row class had 27 students take advantage of the exciting opportunity to participate in a unique and challenging sport that exemplifies teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, physical conditioning and commitment.
Together a group of dedicated visionaries, hard-working student-athletes, extraordinary volunteer coaches, fantastic volunteers, and generous families and donors are working to build a successful rowing program that will help steer young lives in a positive direction.
We are a 501c3 non-profit organization and are actively working on fund raising efforts to afford all the equipment necessary to fulfill the needs of the club. This includes various boats (Single, Double, 4, and 8-man), oars, ergometers (rowing machines) for off season training, as well as maintenance needs to keep everything in good functional order. We are also working on building a shell house and docks to be our home on Lake Guntersville. This could help promote not only rowing but a variety of non-motorized watersports such as kayaking and canoeing.
