Lake Guntersville Sprints Event

We are proud to be hosting our spring event on Lake Guntersville!  It will be on April 14th, 2012 and the race will take place along the levee close to the Best Western and the Rescue Squad.  We will be adding more and more information as we get closer to the event, so please keep an eye on our webpage, Facebook, and especially the page for the event itself which you can find at the link below:

Lake Guntersville Sprints Information

Helpful Erg Info!

Thought we could use some of this information on how to erg properly including technique, damper settings, etc.  I advise you all taking some time to check this out so you will make your erg sessions even more productive.  The videos will help show you proper technique and help to correct common mistakes.  Definitely worth a look if you have the time!

Oar work!

After rowing Saturday morning, we got to work on panting the new oars!  We sanded them down and got the initial coat of paint on there, so that is a good start.  Hope to have them ready for practice in a week or two!

New Oars!

The new oars are here!! They are painted in the Northeastern Men’s team colors and we have to install the new collars but they are in great shape! We will need to have an oar sand and paint session in the near future. We also have one more oar to sell…last one only $250!

Head of the Hooch!

LGRC had a nice presence at the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, TN on November 6th!  We had both juniors and mixed masters rowing, and it was a great experience for everyone who participated.  We are definitely showing signs of progress and that is highly encouraging! Thanks to all who made the trip!
